The main occupation of SIA "A Rent" is the provision of autonomous and transfer services.
The privacy and protection of our clients' personal data is very important to us. SIA 'A Rent' is committed to safeguarding any personal information provided by the client – whether current, potential, or former.
The purpose of this privacy policy is to provide our Client as a natural person with information about the purpose, scope, etc. of personal data processing.
The Privacy Policy applies to the processing of data regardless of the form and/or medium in which the client provides personal data (on SIA 'A Rent' website, mobile application, in person, in paper format, via email, or by phone).
1. Processing of personal data
In order to conclude a car rental agreement, fulfill its obligations to the Client, and ensure the performance of the contractual obligations, SIA 'A Rent' needs to collect, process, and store the Client's personal data.
Payment processing is provided by the payment platform makecommerce.lv, that is why our company transfers the personal data necessary for payment execution to the platform owner Maksekeskus AS."
Personal data is any information that relates to the Client as a natural person (personal identification number, address, email, phone number, and any other information that can identify a specific individual when collected). SIA 'A Rent' may also receive information about the Client if the Client uses SIA 'A Rent' social media services.
SIA "A Rent" processes personal data for the following purposes:
1.1. For the provision and delivery of services (for client identification; preparation and conclusion of contracts; reservation and administration of car rentals; fulfillment and assurance of contractual obligations; communication with the Client; improvement and development of services; advertising and distribution of services for commercial purposes; customer service; handling and processing of complaints; administration of loyalty programs; customer retention, enhancing loyalty, and measuring satisfaction; billing administration; debt recovery and collection; maintenance and operational improvement of websites and mobile applications).
1.2. For business planning and analytics (for statistics and business analysis; planning and accounting; conducting market research; conducting customer surveys; collecting customer feedback; carrying out and ensuring commercial and marketing activities).
1.3. For the fulfillment of legal requirements – to provide information to state administrative institutions and law enforcement entities in cases and to the extent specified in external regulatory acts.
1.4. For other specific purposes, about which the Customer is informed at the time when he provides relevant data to SIA "A Rent".
The information and personal data provided by the Client for the purposes specified in this policy will be collected, processed, and stored in accordance with the requirements of European Union legislation regarding personal data protection.
2. Application of privacy policy
The privacy policy applies to ensure the protection of privacy and personal data in relation to:
to natural persons – clients (including potential, former, and current clients), as well as to third parties who receive or transmit any information to SIA 'A Rent' in connection with the provision of services to the Client (including contacts, payers, etc.);

3. Acquisition of personal data
SIA "A Rent" obtains personal data as follows:

4.4. For the protection of legitimate interests – to realize the legitimate interests of SIA 'A Rent' arising from the mutually concluded contract between SIA 'A Rent' and the Client or from the law;

verify the identity of the Client before concluding the contract;
ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations;

administer payments;
administer outstanding payments;
to address state administration and law enforcement agencies, the court, or debt collection companies for the protection of their legal interests;

5. Storage of personal data
The personal data obtained by SIA 'A Rent' about the Client is stored in both paper format and in the company's information system. Personal data is kept as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. In practice, personal data is stored as long as there are grounds to believe that claims may arise in connection with the contractual relationships concluded between the Client and SIA 'A Rent.' Personal data that is no longer needed for a specific purpose is deleted.
The customer has the right at any time to request the restoration of his data, information about the use of his personal data, as well as to request the deletion of his data.
6. Communication with the Client
SIA 'A Rent' communicates with the Client using the contact information provided by the Client – by calling or sending text messages to the specified phone number, sending emails, or sending letters/notifications to the Client's postal address.
Communication with the Client regarding the reservation of services is carried out by SIA 'A Rent' based on the Client's request, while communication regarding the fulfillment of contractual obligations is based on the concluded contract.
SIA 'A Rent' may communicate with the Client as part of commercial notifications and/or marketing activities (for example, informing the Client about news, special offers, information regarding SIA 'A Rent' services, discounts, promotions, as well as upcoming events and contests). Such communication is carried out by SIA 'A Rent' in accordance with the provisions set forth in external regulatory acts or based on the Client's consent.
The Client can give consent to receive commercial notifications and/or information about marketing activities on the SIA 'A Rent' website, in-person at the office, or via email; such consent remains valid until it is revoked.
The customer can withdraw the consent by sending a letter, e-mail or in person at the office of SIA "A Rent".
SIA 'A Rent' may also communicate with the Client in other cases (for example, in response to the Client's submissions, requests; conducting customer satisfaction surveys).
7. Transfer of information to third parties
The collected data will not be disclosed to third parties; however, under certain circumstances, if necessary for the data processing purposes specified here, or if required by regulatory acts, SIA 'A Rent' may disclose the Client's personal information and data to third parties:
if the data needs to be provided to the relevant third party within the framework of a concluded contract to perform a function necessary for the execution of the contract or delegated by law (for example, to a bank, accounting service provider for payment purposes);
IT service companies – for data storage and maintenance of information systems;
in accordance with the explicit consent of the Client;
to the persons provided for in external regulatory acts upon their justified request, in the manner and to the extent specified in external regulatory acts;
For the protection of SIA 'A Rent's' legitimate interests (for example, by addressing the court, debt collectors, or other responsible institutions);
In the event that SIA 'A Rent' reasonably believes that disclosing the data is necessary to protect the rights of SIA 'A Rent' (for example, to investigate potential violations of SIA 'A Rent's' terms and conditions or to detect, prevent, or address fraud or other security issues).
